Maintaining Curb Appeal in the Winter
1.Spruce Tops & Wreaths
You can’t go wrong with deep, earthy greens contrasting the white snow. Add garland to your railings, a beautiful wreath on your door, or pots overflowing with spruce tops. Maybe even add a big red bow or two, for a splash of color!
2. Outdoor lighting
Think outside of just Christmas lights — soft, outdoor lighting makes a statement during any part of the winter. Aim for soft yellow or faint blue lighting that highlights the natural beauty of the snow when dusk comes.
3. Winter hardy Plants
Landscaping isn’t just for the summer months! There are many cold-hardy plants to dress up your front lawn, such as yew bushes, various types of hedges, cypress, and more. Even if you didn’t plant these in the fall, you can always place smaller plants in pots around your entryway.
4. Lanterns
Add a bit of the winter folklore vibe with vintage lanterns, and take advantage of the increased hours of nightime. Similar to the outdoor string lighting, these warm yellow glows will create an inviting presence and set you apart from the crowd come sundown.
5. Add a Pop of Color
With the bright green gone from the lawn and the trees, the front of your house can look bleak in the winters — so why not add a pop of color? Consider painting your front door or mailbox a bold tone. If that sounds like too much of a commitment, why not decorate with bright red bows or ornament bulbs on your greenery?
