Como
St. Paul, MN

The jewel in the crown of one of St. Paul’s most beloved neighborhoods is the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. Under the beautiful Marjorie McNeely Conservatory’s towering, glass-clad palm dome are spectacular collections of rare orchids and ferns, as well as year-round flower shows in the sunken garden. Adjacent to the conservatory is a tropical rainforest exhibit with birds, fish and a resident sloth. Nearby are a small lake for fishing and paddle-boats, public swimming pool, Japanese gardens, golf course, playgrounds, a pavilion for concerts and performances, walking and bicycling trails, picnic grounds, and the Como Town amusement park.
Como Park includes diverse housing styles, from stately Victorians around the lake to one-and-a-half story homes from the 1920s and ranches from the 1950s. Local coffee shops dot the neighborhood, while a nearby mall has a grocery store and pharmacy. Primarily residential, Como Park has several public, charter and private schools for neighborhood families.
